Fun Holiday Card Ideas?

I'm trying to brainstorm about holiday card ideas. Typically we send out pre-made cards and just sign our name but I'd like to send out personalized cards this year. My husband and I just got married in May and our wedding thank you cards were us holding a "thank you" sign on our wedding day and a few other wedding pictures. I thought about photo-shopping santa hats on a wedding picture but I'm pretty sure people are tired of seeing us in our wedding attire.

Does anyone have any creative, fun ideas? We'd love to include our boxer puppy into the pictures. Thanks for any ideas! After the wedding, my creativity seems to be zapped!  :)

Re: Fun Holiday Card Ideas?

  • We are making our Holiday cards this year out of photo booth pictures that we took at the mall. we will photo shop them and place the pics on a cute background. We are not done with them yet, but when we are I will post a picture of them. We are printing them on high gloss paper.

  • use the puppy! our boxer will be in our card this year. i'm doing photo cards for sure. but stationery is a hobby of mine, so it has to be good. i think i'm going to do something similar to this, but use a pic of us and the pooch.

i really like your link it is too cute. i love when people use their dogs on cards

  • I can't seem to get the image to post, but last year we had a picture of my husband, me, and our cat in front of the Christams Tree.  We turned it into a photo card on shutterfly but chose a green Halloween themed frame.  On the inside, we printed "In spite of these tough economic times, we were able to secure a great deal on these Holiday cards.  Merry Christmas, Kerrie, Ryan, and Gus".  Becuase of the color, some people had to do a double take and didn't see the ghosts until they relooked at the front of the card.  We like to be a little tongue in cheek at the Holidays!
  • We usually do a photocard using walmart.com.  I think they are around 30 cents a piece, so pretty cheap.  We usually include a photo of us in front of our christmas tree (but may substitute out a wedding photo this year) and a photo of our pups with Santa.  Petsmart/Petco/the SPCA usually hosts a couple weekends of photos with santa for like $10 I think.  We bring our digital camera and take some photos for our cards (since they just give you a printed photo).

    Photobucket
  • I'm hand-making our holiday cards with craft/stamp supplies, cause I love that kind of stuff, but this photographer in our area does some really creative, kinda funny Christmas photos, and I think I'm going to book a session. I especialy like the first picture on the second link where the wife is poking her husband with the fire poker. :)
