Re: LoL, awesome
MY BLOG!
Oddly that's the second baby sushi costume i've seen today...the first being this one.

Aw that poor sushi kid looks MISERABLE!
I think the worst one was the baby roast turkey costume though... who does that?!?
You know what... I don't give kids candy that aren't in a costume. I've done this at my MIL's house in the past and I am doing it at my house this year. Am I just asking for them to egg my house after Halloween? Where are these kids parents?!? Why are they letting them go trick-o-treating without a costume? Just beggin for candy... go buy your own bag at the store!
Really?! You refuse them candy??? You're a strong woman, Nicole - i would not be able to do that.
How do they take the news that you're not giving it to them?
LOL....this was awesome....
Last year we had lots of bad children come to our house. Tim was handing out candy and 2 children actually yanked the bowl down to their level and shoved their hands in and just helped themselves. The look on Tim's face was priceless.....and then he yelled at them.....even more priceless.
They are just in shock so they don't really react on the spot- but like I said, I am waiting for one of them to egg my house. I am HUGE fan of Halloween and I think it's just BS when people come begging for candy and don't bother dressing up. F that! (I am extra passionate about Halloween).
We have non costumed kids ring our bell all the time. I've sorta let it go although I got sorta bugged by it the first year. In my 'hood, it seems to be very highly correlated with the newness of the family to the country which I can understand. When you think about it, Halloween is sorta strange. You put your kids in costumes and run around the neighborhood ringing complete strangers' doorbells and asking for food that, if consumed in large quantities will make them sick (or send them to the dentist!). It has to be one of the few occasions where it is socially acceptable and really encouraged to talk to strangers. Confusing much?! I think so! Anyways, I can't turn down a cute kid's face, costumed or not.
I also had kids pulling the bowl down and helping themselves. That didn't go over so well so now I have a very small frankenstein pail I got in the dollar spot at Target that really only holds a handful and I just re-fill it between groups of kids. They can't really get at it and there isn't much in there at a time to grab. Plus its cute.
H & I actually agreed if you couldn't justify your costume to make sense, then we weren't giving you any candy. He is much stronger than I am, but I agree w/ pp; its them just being lazy and wanting free candy.
Nicole: I think that's awesome. Halloween is for dressing up! What's the point of being out if you're not in a costume...like you said just go to the store and buy a bag of treats.
Pretty much all the kids that come to my house are in costume. And super cute ones at that. But some of the kids are gigantic...it's like really. But I guess if you still have the nerve to trick or treat at 16 you deserve a little bag of chips lol.
