Computer Help

Hi Ladies,

I was hoping you might be able to help me. 

We just moved.  On Monday, when Fios was at my house, the tech had both the laptop & the desktop up & running fine.  Last night, I went to the desktop to upload some pictures & the monitor wouldn't turn on.  It's showing the orange standby light, but won't turn green.  I tried shutting the monitor & the tower off/on and I unplugged it from the outlet & the tower, nothing. 

I also have a wireless mouse & keyboard.  The little receiver usually has a green light on it, nothing there either.  I tried changing the batteries in both the mouse & the keyboard... didn't help.

At first, I thought something was wrong with the monitor, but since the mouse & keyboard aren't working, I'm not so sure.  The laptop is working fine.  Any thoughts?

  • I'm not at home right now, but I'm sure there is.  I didn't mess with the router since the laptop was working fine.

  • For the monitor, I'm sure you checked, but was the tower turned on?

    Edit: Nevermind.  Reading comprehension fail on my part.  Check the cables on the back of the monitor.  Unplug and plug them back in.  Other than that, I've got nothing.
