I work at a bank, and every month we like to have an open house at our branch letting people know what current promotions we have going. Usually they last a day or 2. Last month was breakfast. We had bagels and coffee out with a sign for the featured promotion and lots of balloons. This month we got Halloween window clings and lots of candy in a Halloween-themed bowl, again with signs for the current promotion.
I was just wondering if anyone had any other theme ideas for future open houses. We are in an office building, so this is a big part of getting people to stop in and find out what we offer. We have a budget of about $100/month for these events. Any ideas would be appreciated!
P.S. We tried give aways, but mostly it was people that are already our clients that entered. So, we try not to do those.
Re: Open House at Work
to get new clients in the door, could you offer a bonus or prize when a current customer brings a friend? like a referral bonus.
also, host something community friendly for kids. like have santa come for the kids. that might get more people to come in.
We have actually thought about and suggested this a couple times. It just stinks because we have no control over this. Headquarters does, and they won't do it.
Food, something for kids, and fundraisers always seem to bring things out.
A holiday tree to adopt a family. A drop off location for winter coats/shoes etc. This will get people in the door and get community poublicity. I also hear a lot of local radio stations doing live broadcast from events. I have no idea how you get onto that sort of thing, but especially if you are doing a fundraiser I'm sure they'd come out.
If you've got the space a blooddrive? Give away a giftcard or try to do a competition with another business?
Are there other businesses in the building you can do a tie-in with? Do something in their space to get people into yours.
