Landlord wife just emailed me to say she'd talk to landlord husband about it and wanted to know what "kind" we were thinking of getting. I hope she meant breed. I know they wouldn't want us to get a puppy, but we'd only had Rufus for a week when we moved in and he didn't ruin the house!
Crate training, tile floors, and baby gates are house-savers!
Mames, you guys should totally get an Aussie or Border Collie. They are ridiculously smart and lovable, and soooo cute. It's impossible to stay mad for more than a few seconds!
ETA: At this point, I totally feel like a little kid asking mommy pretty, pretty please for a puppy. Don't dig this feeling at 30! I can't wait til we can buy our own house and do whatever, whenever!

I'm getting impatient waiting to hear back from the landlords. DH has already renamed the puppy. He said she looks like a Molly. So, if we get her, she'll be name Mollipop, Molly for short. Keep your fingers crossed the landlords come through!
And I think some friends (the ones who turned us on to Aussies) are looking at adopting a young Aussie I found for them. I'm so excited! It would be so awesome if we can help rescue two dogs!
