AMC Fork & Screen Theatre in Buckhead

Anyone been there?  Thoughts?

FI found some info on it and we have been wanting to go to see a movie.  We haven't been to Buckhead yet and thought about venturing over there and checking it out.  It's a cool concept to be able to eat/drink while watching a movie and being waited on but I'm curious about the price and if it's really disrupting while watching the movie.

Also, what else would be worth seeing while over there?  Is there a mall?  Good restaurants?

it's great. dh and i love seeing movies there. we haven't been to a movie since they remodeled and renamed the theatre (used to be called buckhead back lot). the prices aren't really any more than a regular theatre. and if i remember correctly, all movies at night during the week are cheaper. it's right near phipps and lenox malls.

Ooh, good to know!  So do you find it disruptive at all?  I mean, trying to watch a movie and people being waited on at the same time?  Is it distracting?

OOOOOOOOOOh, be careful hitting up Phipps and Lenox. Its some serious shopping nirvana/spoiling. I like Phipps for its high-end factor, but I really cannot afford it (it has a Tiffany's. Nuff said) and Lenox is my #2 behind Perimeter Mall for shopping. There's just so much there to choose from!

Never done Buckhead Backlot (or whatever its now called) but it sounds like fun!

I haven't been to Fork and Screen, but DH and I go to Movie Tavern in Tucker.  It's the same concept, but it's only $5 for us to see a movie (with our student discount...regular tix are only $8).  I don't find it distracting at all.  The staff is always really considerate, and the setup is nice with the comfy recliner chairs. I'm sure that Fork and Screen will be a wonderful experience!

most food is served before the movie even starts. the only distracting thing is when they bring your check, but it's not bad at all.

I really like Fork & Screen!  DH and I go almost monthly. No, its not distracting.  I recommend that you buy your tickets online or in advance because movies get sold out quickly (even on weeknights since the theaters are smaller than regular ones) and arrive at least 15 - 30 minutes before your movie starts.  That will give you time to look over the menu and order. Your food will arrive during the previews or just as the movie is starting.

I'll add a +1 for shopping at Lenox. I was there the other week drooling over stuff at Crate and Barrel and Williams-Sonoma. They also have a new concept Ann Taylor store, which is very upscale but sells the same stuff other AT stores do.

In my honest opinion, most of the food is nasty and too expensive, but otherwise it's pretty cool.
