Dyson?

I really want a Dyson but I am not sure which one to get.  We have a year old lab who sheds all the time, and our whole downstairs is hardwood floors except our bedroom and I really want to be able to vaccum the hardwood floors bc the broom just doesnt get all the hair.  Should I get the all floors vaccum or the animal vaccum (since I am mostly picking up dog hair).

Re: Dyson?

  • Hands down the Animal. I have had mine for about 6 years and it still works great and I use it at least 1X a week. I was given my grandma's Multi Floor dyson which she hardly used and it doesn't pick up nearly as much dog fur or dirt as my old much used Animal. For me the only one plus about the Multi Floor is that it has the longer reach rod so I don't need to get the latter out to reach high places.

  • I live in a rather small apartment. I have the Dyson DC24 All Floors. It's small but perfect size for my apartment and I got it for a great steal. It does pick up a whole lot and because of the size, I have to empty every other time that I vacuum if I end up doing the whole apartment. I've had mine for less than a year but I don't regret purchasing it at all.
  • We have the DC25... LOVE IT.  Would pay twice the amount for it.
  • Hey...we have the animal dyson...got it refurbed on overstock.com...love it! I haven't pulled out a broom in months...I use it for everything!! Dusting the fans, blinds, tables...it picks up the hair like there is no tomorrow..definately worth the cost (coming from another lab mix owner)
  • Ditto to PP the Dyson Animal is the route to go! I have one and having three dogs two of which shed year round all the time it is a must have item.
