House plants?
Does anyone have a favorite houseplant? We live in San Diego so our access to some things may be limited. We want something low care levels too!
Plants are not my forte by any means.
Also, is there a happy medium? My husband loves the draping ivy type plants ( that I despise ) and I like more of the fern style (that he despises).

My favorite is African violets.
Peace Lilies (Spathiphyllum) are easy.
I bought two of them when I bought my house, 15 years ago. I still have them. I have never fertilized them, but I have repotted them 3 times over the years as they have grown. I have also neglected them terribly at times, and brought them back from the brink of death MANY times (I'm sure they'd be even bigger if I were not so lazy).
Another easy plant is Chinese Evergreen (Dieffenbachia).
