Re: Poll: Heat!

  • 1.  Is your heat on yet at home? Yes, we turned it on around the beginning of the month when the temperatures starting getting cold at night

    2.  When your heat is on, what temperature do you set it to? It's set at 69 right now, if I didn't have kids I'd probably have it at 67

  • 1.  Is your heat on yet at home?   Nope!  We're waiting as long as we can. :)

1a)  If yes, when did you turn it on?
1b)  If no, when will you turn it on? If the house gets below 60 we'll
probably cave.  The lowest it's been so far was this morning at 62.

    2.  When your heat is on, what temperature do you set it to?  Usually 68/69 for when we're home, 65 for while we're at work and overnight.   Unless it's really super cold, then we put it at 69 around the clock so it doesn't have to work so hard to heat back up after it's gone down.

    2.  When your heat is on, what temperature do you set it to? 68 right now, it usually goes up to 72 at most when its freezing out.

  • Not yet!!

Well DH turned it on while I was gone a few nights ago and had it up to 72 with the back porch door open!  WTH!?  He got reemed out and has learned the error of his ways!

It was (DH says) 57 in our house the other day.  I think he's crazy but maybe.  We keep it at 65 when we are home and 60 while gone.and overnight.

I have two small heaters that we keep in the bedrooms during the night to take chill out of the air.  It seems to work out well.

I'm a HUGE cold freak too so it's been adjustment.  We did turn it on while the kids were here last weekend on Sat into sunday AM but it went off again after that.  It's cold in our house I'm not gonna lie but I refuse to cave yet!

  • 1.  Is your heat on yet at home? yes (it's been on and off as the weather permits) DH is a wuss, I wanted to hold out longer, but he gets up at 4am and it's COLD at that time.

1a)  If yes, when did you turn it on? maybe 2 wks ago
1b)  If no, when will you turn it on?

    2.  When your heat is on, what temperature do you set it to? I think 60 during the day and 65 at night (for now), but I'm not totally sure, haven't paid much attention

  • 1. Yes

1a) it has been off and on since it started getting cold at the end of Sept.

    2. Depends on how cold it is, I'm always very cold so typically it is set at 72, but like I said that can vary depending

I've never been one to boycott turning the heat on, if I'm cold, I'm cold, it comes on.  I'd rather pay for the gas then freeze, I can't sleep if I'm freezing.  And we have Davis now, so we cannot let him get too chilled at night.

1a)  If yes, when did you turn it on?
1b)  If no, when will you turn it on? We try to wait till the temp in the house drops to 62. Right now it is at 65. As long as the kids are still warm in their footed jammies, we will wait.

    2.  When your heat is on, what temperature do you set it to?  Most of the time 68 but it really depends on if there is any wind hitting the house the right way making it colder.

  • 1. Yes

1a) it has been off and on since it started getting cold.

    2. Depends on how cold it is.  I, like Jill am not one to boycott turning the heat on and would rather pay for the gas then freeze. The main house is at 71 and the family room (addition) might be around that or a little higher when we are in it.  Since we have A, the temp is up higher then it would be if it were just DH and myself.   We do turn it down when were are not there.

  • 1.  Is your heat on yet at home? Yes

1a)  If yes, when did you turn it on? It has only been on once or twice.
1b)  If no, when will you turn it on?

    2.  When your heat is on, what temperature do you set it to? Just warmer, lol.  We never go above 75, plus we have an electric blanket on our bed.  Granted, we don't turn it on because we packed the cord on accident and already took it home, but the blanket is super comfy.  Our upstairs gets really cold though.
