Re: AWF!

  • My dad's a civilian contractor and is spending 18 months in Afghanistan. We thought he wasn't coming home until March...found out on Wednesday that he gets to come home in the middle of January for his version of R&R. I miss my dad a lot, so I am SO excited.

H put my MIL in her place this week. So proud of him.

  • DH is going to the Rangers game tonight. I am very excited for him. Since he couldn't take my car and we don't think his truck would make it down there (it's almost over 10 years old and has alot of problems) he rented a mustang for the day. It's a red 2010 mustang and that car is sweet! We went cruising in it last night and I left like a teenager again.

DH comes home from his business trip tonight! I haven't seen him since Monday!

  • I started the C25K program. I have worked out every day this week except yesterday (body was TIRED and I had a lot of yard work to do). I made myself a workout schedule through the end of November to make me do it.

I have to schedule working out. It's gotten kind of sad, actually.

How far are you on the C25K program? I just started it this week. I've done two days so far.

That's exactly how far I am lol. I was going to run today, but I don't have any tops that are good for the rain. Everything I have is cotton Indifferent Time to shop! I think I'll lift today and run tomorrow.

  • My riding instructor put the idea in my head last night about leasing a horse. There's no way I could ever afford to buy one, but leasing would be a good potential option--I already spend a bunch of money to have a riding lesson once a month, and for not much more I can skip the lessons and just ride whenever I feel like it. I brought it up to DH when I got home last night, and he LOVED the idea. So now I can't stop thinking about it, and I think maybe in a few months I'm gonna do it...

  • My husband is the bessssssssssst!!!  Ha ha (see FFFC below).

Well, other than my amazing sickness and even more amazing baby mama drama, this has been a pretty good week.  Our bedroom is coming along quite nicely but not as quickly as I had hoped. We have now had a house in complete disarray for over a month and I am getting testy.  However, our new patio doors were installed in our living room and bedroom and they look so beautiful.  They have totally changed the look of our rooms which makes me so happy.  I am really hoping that we are able to move our clothes into our closet this weekend because I have clothes everywhere and I am ready for some organization!

  • Lol stripes, I'm sure he is ;) As I type this, I'm wearing jeans I haven't worn in at least 4 years. :)

  • So DH just got a promotion and a raise about a month or so ago, and since then he also got a nomination for employee of the quarter. I think he's just really coming into his own, and I'm so dang proud. :)

I have almost all of my next (and final!) semester's tuition saved up, so I think when I enroll I can just pay it off and be done with it.

  • Back in the spring, I decided to start a group for people who are parenting without religion.  We got a meetup page in September and we now have over 60 families in the group.  I wanted to create a community for non-religious people, similar to what believers find in a church, and it is really coming together.  I have seen so many comments from new members about how happy they are to finally find a group for like-minded people with children.  I'm happy to see I wasn't the only one looking for this, and it makes me feel really good about deciding to take on the project to help create this for others as well.

  • I had a rough time at the beginning of the year when I became a supervisor. I was about to give up and look for a new job in May. My immediate manager was not helpful and came across as demanding. A couple employees had drama and gave me grief. In June, the manager and a supervisor of another area left. I started doing both supervisory jobs and then moved to only be over the new section. I am so busy but I really love my new job.

This week, two former employees and an employee who just got a vacant position in my old area told me they wanted me back in my old section. One of them told me that one of my current employees (nameless) thought I was great. In my new section, there are some major external issues going on that have been a problem for my employees this week. I've been working to get it resolved. One told me today they really appreciated everything I was doing. I feel good by the feedback. I just want to make a difference operationally with my company and be a good supervisor.

    Thanks Ami Smile

To add to my AWing--I got my hair done today and, I must say, it's pretty fabulous.  She cut off about 4 inches and I don't feel frumpy anymore Big Smile
