Which suburb?

I need some direction. DH and I live in River North currently but are planning a move to the 'burbs. Used to live in an Indy-suburb real similar to Naperville - up n coming, safe, good schools, clean, new, etc.

I work in the loop, DH is at O'Hare...any suggestions for other suburbs besides N-ville to look at?

Wheaton is nice, but pricey. Same with Lisle and Westmont. Both very nice suburbs with cute downtowns. I have many friends who live in and around Downers Grove and love it. You get all the restaurants and shops, are closer to the city and it's cheaper than the others. Also right on the metra line.

Park Ridge is close to O'Hare.  Elmhurst isn't far either.  They are both great suburbs.

I live in Elk Grove which is really nice. It's so close to everything, minutes to O'Hare, Woodfield, 30 minutes to downtown, 290/355 and 90 are within minutes...I'm partial though.

I personally prefer the suburbs that are closer to the city e.g Lincolnwood, Skokie, Morton Grove
