Most popular beer?

We're having a Halloween party and would like to know which beer is the most popular, so we can buy that.  Anyone know?  (not which beer you like, but which is the most popular).

 TIA!

Re: Most popular beer?

  • For an every day run of the mill beer I'd say a Miller Lite, Bud Lite, or Michelob Lite.  At least those were the most popular beers when I was bartending.
  • Thanks!

Also, does anyone know if you can return unopened beer and wine?  Like to Walmart?

  • just remember that "popular" will depend on your crowd... a lot of the beer drinkers i know won't touch miller lite or bud lite. they'd prefer sam adams, yuengling, corona... something like that.
  • I think you'd be ok with either Yuengling or Miller Lite.  Neither are completely offensive (I'm looking at you, Nattie Lite) and they're mild enough for those who aren't beer connoisseurs.
  • I bartend still. The most I sell are bud lite, bud, and miller lite. I also sell a lot of coors light and since it's October, any of the Octoberfests (Sam Adams, Goose Island and Schlafly are pretty popular right now)
Warning No formatter is installed for the format bbhtml
  • Light domestic's are probably your best bet. I personally like the Blue Moons, Sam Adams, and Abitas. They are usually the first to go at a party. I think Bluemoon makes a Halloween beer called Harvest Moon that is full bodied but good.

I work at a wine shop and we do take returns on unopened wine and liquor. However, we don't take back any beer that has been chilled or cases that are obviously damaged or opened. It's a small family owned store, I don't know if Wal-mart would have the same policy.

  • We juist had a beer tasting last night (got advice on here and will post a summary of it and answer questions later) and the overall most popular beer was Moosehead followed by Budweiser. HTH!
  • Yuengling and Coors tend to be harmless crowd pleasers.
    Scrabble high score: 531
  • In Colorado my experience has been Bud Light and Blue Moon

In New Jersey, Miller Lite and Sam Adams.

  • you could do an october ale or pumpkin ale to theme it...though i dont think those are favorites necessarily.  would be cute at a halloween party though.

  • I've found Yuengling and Sam Adams to be the best "general crowd" beers.  Miller Lite is fine too but I think Yuengling and SA are the best compromises between real but expensive beer and cheap but mass market watery stuff.
