  • I've been using henna on my hair for over a year. I LOVE it. It makes my hair and scalp so much healthier. The ends are smoother, it's shiny, and my scalp is less dry. It's kind of weird too look at when you first use it, especially if you're used to chemical dyes. But once you get past the color, it's so nice, I've come to love the smell, it just seems very clean to me. Sometimes the color takes a day or two to settle just FYI so I always try to dye mine on a Friday so by work on Monday it isn't so bright. Plus you can try making it with other things to manipulate the color. I like the auburn color, so I make mine with coffee and leave it in for an hour. Of course if you're not going for red you'll have to trust the company's other colors and suggestions. I use Rainbow Henna. Good luck!
  • I dyed my hair with henna for almost a year and LOVED it. It seriously made my hair so so so healthy. And I've heard it works wonders on covering gray. The only reason I stopped using it is because I started to get sick of the red...but you can experiment with things like indigo too to do different shades of red and even brown :)

I wrote a blog post about it here.
