His bosses are seriously out to get him...and it totally sucks that this is happening. In his contract they say that employees are encouraged to take trainings or do any kind of certification exams and that they will be allowed to take business time to do them. DH got an email last week after he had a conference and an exam to go to that they will no longer allow him to do anything on company time because they will not be utilising his abilities to their full potential. They refused to buy his training materials for the same reason...an hour later they were called into a staff meeting to talk about starting to use the systems and whatnot that DH wanted to start studying for a certification in. His director thinks of him as a threat, because the only difference between him and herself is that she has 30 years experience....and he has more technical expertise...but they both have nearly identical bachelors degrees....Its just soo frustrating, and upsetting.
I hate having a mad and angry husband coming home every day....his talents and abilities squandered by some a-holes who dont want him to get to smart and challenge their positions in this organization. Thankfully, he has decided to look for another position somewhere, and for the first time in months (He was always on the lookout for something a little better) there are multiple job postings that would be perfect for him....in the same company, and more out there in other places.
So if you would send a little bit of thoughts our way that my DH can find something new where his abilities would be accepted and encouraged instead of squashed.
