We are getting ready to start looking for our first home and looking for an agent. Do you know/have used anyone that specialized in 1st time home buyers? We are looking to buy in the Lake Mary area so we are hoping for an agent that lives/works in that general area.
Or if you don't know anyone that fits the criteria how do you find your agent other than a referral? I have 1 person that was referred to me but looking for a few more to check out. What questions did you ask a potential realtor? I will of course be checking any potential agents on the FL Dept. of Real Estate site to make sure they have current licenses and no complaints!
Thanks for the help!

I have a recommendation for you. :-) We didn't actually buy or sell with her, but we were briefly thinking about moving to a bigger house and she showed us a home we were interested in. She then talked to us in depth about a lot of things that helped us understand some things in the market and how things work. She was really nice.

As far as what to ask, that's a hard one, but you have to make sure you talk to someone that is helpful, knowledgeable, and someone that respects you and wants to get you the best deal in the right area. Just make sure when you talk to them you don't feel like you're getting the run around. In this market it should be easy to find someone that will help you. Good luck. :-) (If you contact Karen, tell her I sent you.) :-)
HTH!
I work in a title company and I deal with a lot of realtors and I really like the way this realtor works. She is VERY on top of things and gets "pushy" if need be and gets things resolved.
