Houston Nestie coming to Hartford this week!

I am going to be staying downtown starting Wednesday night for the Stitches East Convention.  Will not have rental car, so need some ideas for places off the bus route or the STAR shuttle route that are not terribly expensive

Thanks for the heads up!  I can't wait to get there!

Re: Houston Nestie coming to Hartford this week!

  • Welcome! I never use public transportation so I can't help ya there but there are restaurants and bars downtown. I would also see if you can get to Blue back square which is in the next town over West Hartford. I love going to the cheesecake factory there it's a fun night and there are a lot of shops there. http://www.bluebacksquare.com/

Is there anything in particular you want to do?

  • Have fun at Stitches, the Star Shuttle will get you around downtown, there are a lot of great restaurants and nightlife in Hartford.
  • Hi....

The Star Shuttle will be a good way to get around the downtown area (like pp mentioned...) Some cost effective venues:

Asylum Cafe - Great Pizza, Reasonably priced and a bar.

Salute - does a FANTASIC Happy Hour - good drink specials and apps.

Black Bear - good bar, decent prices, big menu.

Vaughn's Publik House - Great little tavern - good food, decent prices... Tucked away on Pratt Street (which is near some of the downtown hotels.)

    Where are you staying??

    Have fun!
