Everyone had a ball! I wound up making italian foods and making the activities harvesty. So we did cheese, crackers, brushetta, antipasti, grapes for apps, lasagna, sausage and peppers, and brats n beer for the main, and caramel apple bar with italian pastries that everyone brought, and espresso.
For the activities, we did pumpkin painting with the little ones which went really well. The kids had a ball! I had silly string, faux hair dye for the older kids and before I knew it, the adults got into it and there Grandma was, behind the tree hiding from the people chasing her with silly string!
I was concerned about the teens, so I made mocktails for them which they LOVED, gave them glittery glosses/nail polished for favors which they also loved and get this, remember my idea for face painting? They got into it, the hair dying and also the pumpkin painting with the little kids! It was SO wonderful to see everyone having fun!
Then, we had the pumpkin carving contest which everyone got into and they all got very competetive! A prize was given to the best.
Then we had the caramel apple bar and the kids started to dance so the adults joined in and before u knew it, the house was blasting with music, the furniture was being moved to dance, the adults were doing shots and just dancing the night away, even the 88 yr olds!
So, it all went really well. thank you to all of those who helped me with the food choices- they were a hit. Oh and last minute I made a Sicilian Kiss sig drink, which was a hit, too!

Thinking of doing cosmetic updates to a dated home? These were our costs.
It's funny, because my husband said this wknd to a guest who said they were so happy to be a kid again "we don't grow up, we just get older" which in my experience is sooo true. When I had my easter egg hunt last yr with my parents and my really old aunts, one being a 70 yr old NUN, they turned into little 5 yr olds chasing one another around to get the eggs first! It was so fun!
