Do I just use the garlic I use for cooking or is there a special one to buy at the nursery?
TIA!

Re: Planting garlic
I just planted garlic for the first time. I bought mine at my local garden center, the elephant garlic was 85 cents with probably 12 individual cloves in it.
I've read that some grocery store garlic is treated to keep it from sprouting. The articles I've read said grocery store garlic may not sprout or it may have very small heads if it does sprout.
I've planted farmers' market garlic in the past and had good luck. I've started ordering from Seed Savers Exchange so that I can experiment with different varieties. There aren't enough choices in the nurseries for me.
Have you seen my monkey?
