Ladies I'm looking for a dentist in the Jenison/Grandville/Wyoming area. Someone who is family friendly so that eventually we can take Baby Rebel there.
Also, someone who has more recent xray machines. I went to a dentist at Priairie and Ivanrest and they kept shoving a piece of something hard in my mouth to get the xray and they ended up making my mouth bleed. I went to a dentist out in Coopersville while I attended GVSU and they had an awesome machine. I just stood up, put my mouth on a piece and the machine went around my head. May seem like a silly request, but I'm not into pain when I see a dentist.
Thanks for any help!
Re: Dentist recs
I am no dentist expert, but at my dentist, the only time I ever used the thing that went around the head was when my dentist needed to check for a possible fracture in my jaw and also before my wisdom teeth were pulled. I talked with the hygenist and she said that they only use it for specific cases, because it gives a wider image of the teeth, mouth and bone structures.
As for routine x-rays, that I get done, they still use the "butterfly" (as I call them) cardboard tasting things that go inside the mouth and the machine against your cheek then they rotate. My husbands old office he used to go to did the same as this office. So I don't know if newer offices are going to higher technology???? I don't know.
As for recs. I really like the doctors at Lake Michigan Dental, not in the areas you are looking though.
That is because they are different types.
I am a dental hygienist and work at Partners In Dental Care which is on the SE side. www.partnersindentalcare.com
We have digital x-rays but you still have to use the little squares. These are the more detailed images than the panoramic image you're taking about. The PAN is very broad and is typically only done w/ the full-series of x-rays every 5 yrs or so.
