No it is no fake. He does dye it though. Apparently on one of the road trips he forgot his razor and just decided to let it keep growing. He is probably one of the most superstitious people on the team and he will keep growing it while they are doing well. Oh and it is much crazier now then the picture you have there. He is hilarious!

Ok, good to know it's dyed and that doesn't normally look like that. It looks like felt glued to his chin! Baseball players are nutso.
What he said after they won cracked me up. "I hope you guys are going absolutely ballistic, because we're going to get on a flight tomorrow, and we're going to join you. Fact." He's awesome.
I'm in Oklahoma but never was a big Rangers fan, so I was like, eh. But my aunt's got me hooked on the Giants [she lives in CA], so now, I'm a Giants fan. I hope they go all the way.
I was watching the local channel that plays the Giants games after the last NLCS game and they were doing an interview with him. They asked him "what happens with the beard now?" and he replied "it grows!". He is such a weirdo. He is always good for a sound bite during his interviews.

This. I'm an AL gal (go Tigers) so I'll root for the Rangers, but won't be upset if SF wins. If the Yankees had made it I would have rooted for the NL team. I'll watch when I can.
The beard is real, but he uses Just for Men's Pubes to color it.
I'm normally an NL fan (see my sig?), but I absolutely can not root for the Giants.
And, BTW, I had a dream about Josh Hamilton the other night. He did much more with his bat in my dream than he did in game 1!
