company christmas party

Hi All,

I'm on the committee to plan my company's christmas party for about 50-60 people. I like to be creative and have good ideas but I'm drawing a blank. We've already done the casion night, the murder mystery and had a band, does anyone have any good ideas that we could do this year? Someone out of the ordinary, but still appropriate.

Thanks!

Re: company christmas party

  • Would you ever consider doing a group charity activity instead of a party?  The activity could always bee followed by a trip to a local bar where the first drink is on the company.  Just a thought.

How about an international theme where you serve holiday foods from different parts of the world?  You could have tables set up with descriptions of holiday traditions from different places.  You could have different types od music playing, maybe even bring a few live musicians.

    Would you consider Karaoke?

You could just have a regular cocktail party with some fun surprises like have a Santa for photo ops, a photo booth, signature holiday drink, have everyone bring an unwrapped toy to donate to Toys for Tots.

How about a luau where everything is red, white and green?  I think I've seen Santa suits with shorts and Hawaiian shirts.

  • What about bowling? It's active and fun, and most people can participate. We had a staff outing with about 45 people at a bowling alley - we reserved 10 lanes and paid for drinks/appetizers & 2 games of bowling & shoe rental for each person. It was a blast and way cheaper than having a catered meal at a banquet facility.

  • What about a "tropical Christmas"? We did this one year and it was great! Bring in Luau-type food. (Roasted pig/chicken or salmon for the fish eaters, sweet potatoes, Mai Tais), hand out leis, play festive, tropical music, decorate with colorful beachy accessories (umbrellas in drinks, even bring in sand for the floor if you want to go even further!).  Decorate xmas trees with silk flowers, mini leis, dried strings of fruit....
