Treehouse!
This lady had to go to court and fight to keep the treehouse she built for her kids because her neighbors complained. Can you imagine? I hope to build a treehouse in my backyard eventually, and I can't imagine having to jump through the hoops she did in order to keep it.

That thing is cool! I am however surprised she was able to keep it. Being a historical building, and in NYC, I just wouldn't think it would fly. But, good for her!
We have already scoped out the tree that we will build one on. As my husband and I keep saying to each other, we live in ___ (suburban town), we can do anything we want...Sure we may have to live with our neighbor across the street having five cars in front of his house/on his front yard, but that is the price we are willing to pay to not have the watchful eye of the HOA.
