Husbands 30th

My Hubby turns 30 on Christmas and even though we celebrate both on Christmas day I just feel that since he is turning 30 I should do something bigger then we normaly do. If I were to throw him a party when do you think would be a good day to do it? I can't do it christmas eve since so many people will be doing the family thing and I very well cant do it on christmas. Got any ideas? Would it be silly to do it the weekend before or should I even try to do it on the 23rd?

My husband's 30th was on Thanksgiving last year. I did it the weekend before. He was even more surprised because I did it before!  If you want to get a feel for who would really be coming, ask those whom you really want at the party what works best for them.

My DH's 30th birthday is on the 22nd of Dec.  Im planning a guys night/dinner at a restaurant the weekend before his birthday.  I just sent out emails to his friends to save the date for it (since most people are very busy that time of year).

Maybe make him his favorite breakfast for Christmas/Birthday morning?  You could go out for a birthday dinner on the 26th too.

My DH's 30th is December 18, the Saturday before Christmas. I'm throwing him a surprise dinner at a local restuarant with a private room. I would suggest you do his the same weekend- it will be more of a surprise, and it's not too close to conflict with everyone else's schedules.

What about celebrating a couple of weeks before/after.  I just went to a 29th birthday party for a friend that was 3 weeks after her birthday.

If it were me I would do a surprise party the weekend after New Years my DH would not see it coming! Giving me ideas for birthday in a few months!!

I would do it the week before but it is going to be hard to get people together as everyone is usually busy during the holidays.  Can you postpone it and do it the second week in January?   Why not.. it is his 30th.
