Have you been to a BCS Championship game?

With our Ducks ranked so high, DH and I are seriously considering going to this game...we could stay with family that lives in the area, so would only need to buy plane tickets and football tickets...

Tickets are $650 for nosebleed seats!  That's crazy to me.

So, has anyone been?  Was it as fabulous as we are thinking it will be?  Worth the money?

  • I've actually been to all 3 NCs when the Gators played / won (96, 06, 08).  Definitely worth it every time, but we never paid that much for tickets...  Got tickets for the 06 game through school, so they were 200ish a pop.  We got the 08 tickets right before the game, paid about 400 per?

I'd highly recommend making the trip if you can find tickets for a somewhat reasonable price.  BCS is back in Glendale this year, right?  That stadium is hella cool.

  • Yes it is in Glendale.

I'm hoping/thinking that ticket prices will go down a bit once the actual teams are announced?  I don't really know how that all works though, I've only ever bought tickets directly from the stadium, I've never used stubhub or anything like that.

Thanks for the feedback though!  DH and I think that it will be SO fun.

  • When we went in 06, we flew out to Vegas and stayed there for a few days before driving to Glendale.  Obviously that would be more $$$ (unless you score at the tables!), but it was SO much fun, and we ran into many other game-goers at the casinos.  Smile

And the prices will completely depend on what team makes it. If Bama somehow makes it, prices will be astronomical as their fanbase travels well and is largely comprised of 'old money.' Stick out tongue We had a heckuva time finding tickets for the 06 game as Ohio State fans are similar... Can't really comment on the rest of the contenders, though...

  • I love football as much as anyone, but I would never pay that much to go to a game.  Ever.  Not even a Super Bowl.  I would much rather go out there, find an awesome sports bar where tons of people will be, and take part in the atmosphere that way.

  • Never been to a BCS game, but would love to go to one. Unless I hit the lottery sometime soon, I don't think I will be able to afford tickets to one anytime in the near future.

  •  Yes, when Nebraska played Miami for the Nat'l championship.  we paid about $200 a ticket but we are season ticket holders.

I would pay whatever to see my Huskers play, but I'm crazy like that.  :)

  • I have never been, but I would love to someday.

If you go, definitely give us the run down of how it goes for you.

  • That's a lot of money for tickets considering they are going to lose the Civil War! Stick out tongue

I couldn't help myself. I'm just bitter I have to start cheering for the Ducks. I admit No. 1 is kinda cool but.... grumble, grumble.
