T&P for my Dad, please.

I'm an emotional wreck right now.

Incredibly long story short, back around 7 years ago my dad was diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma, a cancer of the kidney. He had surgery to have part of his kidney removed and since has been in chronic renal failure.

Well, just a month or so ago, he started having some issues again, but being the "tough guy" military man that he is, he ignored some of the minor things and didn't tell my mom until he really suspected something was wrong. So, he's been in for blood work and tests and today he went for a scan.

The doctors did see something and are now wanting to remove the rest of that kidney. But, if they remove it, they're afraid that, because of his limited kidney function, the one remaining kidney won't be enough.

If they remove the kidney and it's malignant, then he has to wait until he's 5 years cancer free before he can be put on a donor list. Which means potentially five years of dialysis. Hoping and praying it's benign.

I'm so emotionally drained in the department of worrying about my parents health. Mom is 2 years cancer free from Breast Cancer and we just had that scare with another lump over the summer, dad was 7 years from his and now this.

I'm sorry, I hate to complain because I know that I'm SO not the only one who goes through these things. Just still really upset from the call from my mom. Times like these make me regret moving away from home.

Any thoughts & prayers for my dad are very much appreciated.

Thanks girls!
