Gadgets & Technology
Dear Community,

Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

If you have questions about this, please email help@theknot.com.

Thank you.

Note: This only affects The Nest's community members and will not affect members on The Bump or The Knot.

iTouch

Does anyone blog or visit the nest boards using their iTouch?  I'm thinking about getting one, and those are musts for any device I purchase.

What is your experience using an iTouch?

Re: iTouch

  • If you do go to it from an iTouch you'd need to disable the Java to post. I look at and post from my iPhone and I have to disable it. Just an FYI if you test one out and find it's not posting that's why.

  • I do it all the time and I would say this is one of the features where Apple is clearly superior to the Android OS (I have an HTC Incredible and post from that as well).  It takes some getting used to since the screen is smaller and you have to jump through an extra couple of hoops (disable Java, click "reply," click "HTML," type your reply, click "update," then click "post") but you get used to it and it works fine.
  • I don't think you have to type in the HTML screen to reply to a post on The Nest if you disable Java.  I have always been able to type replies the usual way, as long as Java is disabled.  I read all my blogs in Google Reader, which I just access in the web browser on my iPod touch, and it works great.
