Wearing E-Ring on HM?

For those of you (okay, mostly all of you) who already honeymooned...did you take/wear your e-ring on your honeymoon?

I was planning on leaving mine in our safe-deposit box since we're going out of the country and if we go off the resort I really don't want to be flashing it, nor do I want to put it in the hotel safe.  We're going to Antigua, so not known for high crime, but just rather safe than sorry.  Thoughts?

I actually left both of my rings at home and wore cheaper versions (the 2 together totalled $15 and you couldn't even really tell that the e-ring was fake) when we were in Jamaica. I was worried about swimming and ziplining with them on and that way I didn't have to worry. Lots of other couples at our resort did have their rings on so I think it's up to you. I just didn't want to have to worry about anything while we were away.

I did wear both my ering & wedding band, but then again we didn't leave the country (we were in OBX). If I were leaving the country, I would probably just wear my wedding band and keep my ering at home. Or get a fake set to wear while you're down there.

 

ETA: When is your honeymoon? Have fun & enjoy yourself!!

We went to Mexico, but I wore mine. I was just too excited to take them off!

I wore both on our cruise and I kept them all AT ALL TIMES.  Even when sleeping, showering and lotion-ing up.  I just felt better that I always had them on.  Oh wait, I'm lying.  I did take them off to snorkel and I left it in the room safe (with all our cash).  But we did play with the safe to make sure you truly couldn't get in w/o the code.  And I put them back on immediately after we got back.

If you're that worried about them, I would just leave them home.  I like the thought of fake ones too, what a great idea!

I also wore them on our honeymoon. I was too excited to take them off either. I actually forgot to put my engagement ring on the other day and went to work without it. I felt naked. If I were going anywhere I'd be wearing them, in the country or outside of the country. They are insured if anything were ever to happen to them so I'm not worried.

If they weren't insured I probably wouldn't be wearing either of them.

I wore mine the entire time, never took them off...but we just stayed in the obx where we got married so it wasn't like it was a big deal

If we went somewhere that i was iffy about wearing my rings then I'd definitely get a cheapo set and wear that, just to be on the safe side!

I don't wear mine on the beach or in the water, regardless or where I am, so they got left in the hotel safe for the most part during the day.  I wore them in the morning and evenings, though.  We bought a smaller version of Jeff's ring to wear for activities (not on the HM, just in general) so I wore that at the pool.  If it hadn't been a cute, cheap idea, I would have just gone ringless instead.

Thanks girls.  I thought about just getting a cheapo band to wear on the HM...but now we're leaving next weekend and my snausage fingers mean it'll likely have to be sized.  H won't be thrilled about me going ringless - ironic since he can't wear his for work and frequently forgets it when we're going out in the evenings & on weekends.

We leave for Antigua 11/6 - staying @ Sandals - combo honeymoon and babymoon *oops* - can't wait!

i wear mine all the time and never take it off except when i am "lotioning" my self.  a few weeks ago i was putting lotion on and took the rings off and headed to the airport to fly to dc and realized i forgot to put the rings back on!  i had to turn around, go 30 mph over the speed limit, get the rings, and drive all the way back to make the flight on time.  

 on our honeymoon we met one couple who left their rings at home.

I didn't either rings on my HM bc DH is paranoid. I just wore my promise ring that he gave me before we were engaged. It actually worked out better that way because when we got suckered into the time-share pitch it was easy for us to get out of it because we didn't have flashy rings. Also it made it easier to bargain with the locals for gifts. We went to the Dominican Republic. Oh and it also was nice not to worry about it.

We left all our rings at home when we went to Mexico, DH and I wore our Challedah bands instead of our wedding/E rings. 

I never felt unsafe, but it was just one less thing to worry about.  My brother lost his wedding ring in the ocean on his honeymoon.

We both wore our rings.

While we were snorkling in Kuau'i DH's ring flew off and landed onto some coral.  A fish tried to eat it! Luckily Dh rescued it in time.

I wasn't so lucky.  I stupidly forget to take off the pearl earrings I wore to my wedding - part of a "welcome to the family" gift from MIL.  I didn't even notice the left one was missing till I got back to the hotel

I wore my e-ring to Antigua earlier this year.  Off the resort and all over the country.  No problems.  To me, going out in town in Antigua is no different than going out in DC or any other city.  You can be mugged for your jewelry anywhere.

In terms of water activities, I wear my rings all the time in the water, but they're pretty snug, so I know they're not going anywhere - even in cold water.  If it makes you feel better, I would buy a lock for your suitcase and lock it in there.  IMO, that's less likely to be stolen from a suitcase than a safe.  Hotel staff know people put valuables in the safe, so that's the first place they usually target.

I agree with this, 100%.  As for the water thing, it's twofold for me; mine fits looser and could some off, plus salt water and chlorine can damage your rings.

1 - Don't live in a big city and rarely go to NYC.  But, if I were going there for the day I wouldn't hesitate to wear them.  I know, however, that some of the resort islands are known for having crappy areas outside of the resort areas.

2 - Have never been paranoid before - used to leave cash or whatever unlocked in my suitcase (stupid, I know).  I think since K picked it out on his own (and it's the first/only "good" jewelry I own) I'm just being overly cautious - I should just wear it and not worry about it.

We wore ours, we went to  Mexico. We left them in the safe during the day and would wear them after we showered and went to dinner at night. We didn't wear them on the beach or in the water. We met a guy who lost his wedding band in the ocean and he was there on his honeymoon.

wore mine the entire time in Hawaii - along with many other couples we saw around the resort, etc.  Didn't think twice about it - I feel lost and naked without my rings!
