Re: Tell me about the Halloween party you are having this weekend!

  • What's on the menu?   Sub sandwiches ("fresh flesh"), spinach/artichoke dip ("mold/mildew dip"), sweet/sour meatballs ("mystery meat"), other heavy appetizers w/halloween names, toxic punch

Great decorations you are excited about?  I just got an ornament tree at Pier 1 that is the centerpiece of my food table, and I love it!  We have a witch who when she sense someone walk in front of her, screams and her eyes bug out and tongue sticks out.  Our front yard is a graveyard.

What's your costume?  Cleopatra (my husband is Caesar)

Are you planning games or activities? We have tabletop cornhole, poker, shotzee (yahtzee-style drinking game) and Tempt Your Fate.

  • I usually just lurk on tihs board but I'll jump in this time.

    1. "Brain dip" (guacamole served in a cauliflower), "Newt Eyes" (deviled eggs), sausage balls, bacon wrapped lil'smokies, chicken roll up things, cheese puffs, popcorn mix, Halloween rice krispie treats, Werewolf cupcakes

    2. I put black light lightbulbs on the porch but I can't decide if they're too dark.  Also, I placed a door cover with a scary ax-murderer on our garage door which is placed just so that when you look out the kitchen window the reflection is really scary.  I'm also going to serve punch and the popcorn mix out of cauldrons.

    3. (We went cheap for this.) DH is going as Jason, I'm going as the victim. (White tank and bruises/blood.)  I usually don't do scary costumes so this is different for me.

    4. No games or activities planned.  We have Wii, darts, dominoes and beer pong available if people want.

  • imagegrahamsm3:

Our party was on Friday night.  It was hopping, if I do say so myself - near 60 people.

    What's on the menu?

We had Bobbin for Apples Punch (think big appletini), and here's my table scape, which included Mummy Bones, Barf Sandwiches, Pumpkincakes, Swamp dip, candy, homemade Ghoulish chips, and a few other tidbits.

Great decorations you are excited about?

I loved my tablescape, and my dining room was full of spiders:  on the walls, on the curtains, etc.  I also really liked my witch's corner.  It was all black and purple, and I put a black light in a lamp and black cutout bats inside the lampshade.  Very cool effect.

    What's your costume?

We were Team Taylor:  Taylor Lautner and Taylor Swift.  We got a lot of laughs :)

Are you planning games or activities?

We played beer bong, danced, and had lots of funny photo sessions with our skeleton Cosmo.
