New to the nest (La Grange)

Hey Nesties!

Rather than lurking, I wanted to introduce myself. I'm a 28-year-old writer-editor working in nonprofit fundraising. My hubby, Kevin, and I were just married Oct. 9th. Together with our Boston Terrier, Maddie, and our two cats, we made the move from Chicago to La Grange last spring. We're loving life as newlyweds and new homeowners.

What kind of Nestie meetups are there in the western burbs? Most of our friends still live downtown, so once I dig myself out from under the pile of wedding thank you notes I need to write, I'd welcome the opportunity to meet new people closer to our area. :-)

  • Hello Sarah from a fellow Sarah! :)

I'm brainstorming ideas for a get-together in the western suburbs... I'm in Oak Park and even for me it can be a pain to go into the city for a get-together. I'd love to get something going out here in the near future... Maybe something crafty? There's a bead store in Forest Park that lets you bring alcohol and they teach you how to make a necklace or some other jewelry. That might be fun. Or a bowling night? Or even a Caribou/Starbucks hangout...... :) Any ideas?

  • We're having a get-together in Oak Park this weekend! Here's the info :)

This Saturday- December 4- 3pm at the Caribou Coffee in Oak Park on Harlem Ave. Super casual, stay as long as you want. :)423 North Harlem AvenueOak Park, IL 60302  There is a free parking lot, and the Caribou right across the parking lot from the Harlem Green Line stop! :)
