MIL being funny ... maybe

So, today I put up a Facebook status asking for Halloween costume suggestions (I'm desperate and handing out candy at a community event tomorrow). My MIL suggested I be, for Halloween, "A sweet loving wife." Seriously? Thinking she was probably trying to be funny, I responded with, "I can't dress up as what I am everyday! ;-)" Her response: "Go as sweet little Prufrockswife." Um, as opposed to what? The biyatch I am on a regular basis? *facepalm*

You're the only one round here that knows her personality, was she joking?

  • You could reply, "And you could go as a loving mother! ha ha".

Turnabout is fair play; hope she can take a joke.

I really don't think so. She's one of those REALLY passive aggressive people who says things like this and then, when you do get offended, acts like she was just joking so you look like a jerk for being offended.

time to give it back to the woman!

Then why haven't you set your Facebook security to block her from seeing your posts? I mean, why give her ammo?

My darling daughter just turned 4 years old.

Yes this! I had to put up settings for my MIL. She would see pictures of us doing activities on the weekend and then call and yell at us for not spending time with her. I agree that FB gives them ammo and also waaaay too many reasons to snoop.

You two are totally right. I've been putting that off because of the drama that is sure to follow it, but I'm over it. She's going to lose her FB privileges.
