Oven/Pots/Pans/Bakeware Cleaners

I know green cleaning recipes have been posted here a million times, but Google is failing me right now.  I'm looking for a good alternative for an oven cleaner, as well as a good option for cleaning my pots/pans/pyrex glassware/bakeware that have baked on nastiness that regular dish soap can't get off.  I know most of the recipes I remember seeing in the past involved baking soda, but that's about as far as my memory goes.

Re: Oven/Pots/Pans/Bakeware Cleaners

  • For the baked on stuff, I just make a paste of baking soda and water, rub it on, let it sit, then come back with a scrubby sponge.  I had to do that twice on one particular glass dish, but other than that, it's worked well.

I haven't needed oven cleaner in my oven because it has a self-clean feature.

  • A hand-held steam cleaner has worked well in the oven for me
