November is here!

How was your Halloween?

I can't believe it is November, but here comes the last two months of the year that always go by quickly. Anything fun coming up for you?

Re: November is here!

  • Morning! My halloween was eventful. Tooks the kids trick or treating around my parents neighborhood. They had a blast. Than right as we were getting ready to go home J dislocated his elbow so we had to take him to Urgent Care, than we get home from that and are about to leave we get a flat tire. We finally got home around 11, than I had to get up at 2:30 this morning for work.  It's going to be a long day-thank goodness for the big bag of candy we now have.

I can't believe it's Nov either, right now I would just settle for a calm uneventful month.

  • Anything fun coming up?  Hmmmmmmm.....

  • Morning,

We had a great weekend/Halloween.  Saturday we went out for our anniversary.  Sunday we just hung out.  My oldest SS dressed up as an old man at school for halloween, so I told him we should go get some balloons and he can be the old man from Up.  He liked that idea so we went to party city which was sooooo crowded.  Nothing like waiting for the last minute.  Then we took the kids trick-or-treating. Came home and they both went through their candy and then we went to bed.

I can't believe it's November already! This year has gone by fast!!

I have been checking Mandi's doula page on FB hoping to see a post or something about a new baby on the way.

  • Kat - what a Halloween! Hope J's elbow is feeling better

Brandi - your kitty is sooo cute!

We didn't do much for Halloween. Our friend had a Fall themed party on Sat. I didn't carve a pumpkin as I had Ivy with me. But we made caramel apples and mine was sooo good! Yesterday evening we just hung out with the IL's and put Ivy in her costume for pictures.

  • H and I went over to another couple's house on base for trick or treat.  For a military base, not many kids came to the house.  I guess all the kids started in the officer housing and never made it down our way.  I don't blame them.  They have better candy.

This November I am looking forward to going home to see my family for a few weeks.

  • Opps forgot to put what I am looking forward to:

Christmas shopping. It's my goal to get it all done before Thanksgiving. I don't want to deal with the mall and shopping in December and having a 4 month old. I am also looking forward to Ivy's first Thanksgiving and all the yummy food!

  • Happy Monday. Welcome to November. Today I am a month from my due date but am 100% convinced DS will be here in November. Hopefully sooner rather than later. I think we're all ready for this pregnancy to be over.

Mary went trick or treating last night with a friend and had such a good time. She was scared of the adults dressed up though. There were a couple houses she wouldn't take candy from them. Fine by me.

Kat-I still can't believe that J hurt his elbow like that. How scary. Did he cry? Scream? How is he now? I think if I were you I would've called in. Or do it tomorrow. There is no way I'd be able to function a whole week on that little of sleep. Good luck!

I should get on that too. Time to start thinking of gifts for people. And maybe even recruit somebody to go BF shopping for me. lol.
  • Hello!

Halloween was a blast! L had so much fun. After the first house, he got the idea and went crazy. I had to let him start eating his candy while we were still out. He wouldn't even letme carry his bucket for him, very possessive! It was so cute, it got pretty heavy and he was stumbling around.

Kat - poor guy, and poor you! How did he do that?

  • I'm such a mean Mom. Mary still hasn't eaten candy. It's funny though that it didn't stop her from wanting it or hoarding it from the dogs.

I would not be surprised at all if he decides to make his debut mid-month.

  • thanks ladies. It's something called Nursemaid's Elbow and pretty common in 1-3 yr olds. I was holding his hand and he jerked in one direction suddenly while I was still going the other way. He cried but not like screaming out in pain. And it wasn't a constant cry but J's not a crier so I knew something was up so my mom & I took him to Urgent Care. They were really awesome-he was sign in, triaged, and elbow put back into place within 15min. We didn't even have to go into an exam room.

Within 5min after fixing the elbow he was acting like nothing had even happened. The dr wanted xrays just to be on the safe side but the xray machine wasn't working so while we waiting J was running up and down the hall giggling and screaming. Than when we laid him down he got antsy till we told them that big machine was a camera-so he looked right up big teeth and said "cheezzzzzz" Such a ham. As we were leaving he was telling everyone byebye.

I wish I could of called out but it just wasn't an option. Life of a mom,you know.

Leslie-wow it just came so fast but I keep forgetting you didn't announced the pregnancy till a little later on right?

But than again this whole year has flew by

  • Kat, I've heard of nursemaid's elbow but I had no idea that it could be that bad.  Jeez, I'm glad he's okay.

And yeah, I didn't announce until the 2nd trimester.  That's just how I roll. ;)  But in all reality, this year has gone by crazy fast.
