questions for those who use CDs
DH is all on board with using CDs when we have kids. He's scared about cleaning up #2 diapers though. How do you clean them?
Right now, we live in an apartment that does not allow personal washing machines. Does anybody use CDs without their own washing machine, or I should wait until I have one before I go all out with CDs?
TIA!
Re: questions for those who use CDs
If you are exclusively breastfeeding you don't have to rinse #2. EBF poop can be just dropped in the washer. If you are formula feeding or when you start on solids you will have to rinse/scrape the poop first. A lot of time you can just turn the diaper over and shake it into the toilet to get the poop off. Other times you'll have to rinse it off or use a scraper. There are diaper sprayers that attach to the back of your toilet that you can get pretty cheaply.
I don't personally CD right now but I have lots of friend who live in apartments and CD in shared washer and dryers. If you find others who use the washers are worried you may be able to put them at ease by doing another load of your own clothes after the CDs or do an empty load with really hot water and a bit of detergent to show them you are "cleaning it out". Though you absolutely do not need to do that, but people can be annoying sometimes.
the thought of cleaning it skeeves him out
right now, my only option is public laundromats...I'm hoping by the time I have kids, I'll have my own place with a washer/dryer.
We have a washer/dryer in our house so I can't answer that portion.
However, to get poop off we either plop it (if possible), or spray it with our diaper sprayer. The sprayer is a necessity IMO.
Also, as PP mentioned, breast fed baby poop doesn't need to be rinsed off before washing so that part is easy.

The only thing that might not work with this is the detergent residue that is left behind in the washer/dryers. It might mess with the diapers.
