My boss, who typically types up a draft letter, prints it, doesn't save it, and makes me retype them with corrections has just purchased an iPad. It's completely asinine, particularly for someone who is 76 years old and refuses to learn how to save documents. He doesn't know how to use it, and after sitting down with him for an hour, he still doesn't know how to check his email. Why the hell did he buy this thing?
He and my other boss, who's about 65 and actually half decent on the computer are completely mesmerized by this iPad. Why is this? Is it the touch screen? The pretty colors? I don't get it. I find the thing rather stupid, as it can only have one window open at a time, has almost zero means of productivity and comes at an exorbitant price. He argues that it's "convenient" because it's small...
What about the Asus EEE pc instead of the iPad? It's $300.00 and comes with a fully functioning keyboard... not to mention you can do everything on it simultaneously, not just watch youtube.
So now I have to continually sit down with him to show him how to use the iPad, when he couldn't even use his regular computer to begin with! Do more people like him really exist? Are they just falling under Apple's trance?
I don't understand...
Re: iPads are stupid... and so is my boss. (rant)

We'll just not tell H about this little fact, m'kay?
Maybe she did it from two different windows, to demonstrate how awesome a regular computer is over the iPad?

To the OP - I totally agree with you! I already have a refrigerator and a digital camera, but I bought an iPad anyway. It turns out that I can't take photos or keep my food cold with the iPad! What a waste of money!
