Too late to plant bulbs?

I'm in the Washington, DC area -- zone 6B.  We've had some frost, but not a good hard freeze yet.  Is it too late to plant daffodil bulbs now?

Why do I order so many bulbs!  And why do the nurseries wait so late to ship?

Re: Too late to plant bulbs?

  • Nope! Go for it. as long as the ground isn't frozen, you can plant them.

  • I've planted them as late as December in Maryland.
  • I'm in the Philly area and on our local NPR gardening show last week, they said to wait to plant bulbs until after Halloween- otherwise they'll start to sprout early.  I guess I'll buckle down and plant them this weekend!
