Microwave cleaning?

I try to keep the inside of our microwave clean, but yesterday I noticed a couple baked-on items on the inside.  I've heard that there is a way to loosen them with water and something else (maybe lemon juice?) heated up in the microwave.  Can someone please clarify/explain to me how to do it?  TIA!

I usually just microwave a 50:50 solution of lemon juice/water for 3-4 minutes and then let it sit in there for 10 minutes or so. The baked on stuff usually wipes right off. You can also do a 50:50 vinegar/water solution.

I do the same thing.  I just microwave it until it starts bubbling a little, and then wipe down the inside with a damp cloth.  Sometimes I put a few drops of vanilla extract in it to make it smell good, but it's not necessary.  Works like a charm!

Thanks ladies I tried it tonight, and it worked like a charm!    I had vineger not lemon juice, and it was easy-peasy!

they have an article on the nest about it and you can heat the water mixed with clear vanilla so it smells good.  i use it all the time

Plain ole water in a cup works just fine.
