f/u voting

So... did it turn out how you wanted in your area?

Re: f/u voting

  • Yeah, it did--my part of MD is pretty much always blue. I am bummed about the House, though. And about Michigan.
  • The vote here is still to close to call for governer and for Question 1 (about a casino in oxford county).  Honestly, it is crazy how close the vote is.

  • Governor's too close to call here too. I am very unhappy about the Senate outcome. At least all the amendments turned out the way I wanted them to.

It seems to be very very rare that I actually vote for the winner. Sad

  • I'm pretty annoyed--not only about my races but about some others.  Our governor is still too close to call, but I really hope it goes to the incumbent.  I don't really have much confidence in either candidate, but the incumbent at least shares my views.  I'm pretty pissed about our Senate race--I really dislike Kirk, even though I will admit voting for him previously, back in his younger and more moderate days.  I'm also upset that Grayson lost in Florida.  I really liked him.  Same with the Pennsylvania race--Sestak lost :(  I guess all I can say is that at least the "witch" lady didn't win Nevada.

  • I'm pretty upset about the result for the governor position here in Texas. I really dislike Rick Perrry and can't imagine another four years with him. I just don't get it, why do people vote for incompetent people?!?

  • For the most part, yes. The governor race and the propositions that were important to me went the way I voted.

  • I am not thrilled. Wisconsin is now a red state and I'm not happy.

  • I still vote in AK, and there's a huge write-in campaign for the Senate seat. As of now, the write in votes are higher than the candidate listed, however, they have to confirm all the write in votes are for the same candidate. They had over 150 people sign up as write in candidates to confuse people, because of the way the candidates were conducting themselves. It's been an interesting year in AK politics.

I thought of you this morning.  Looks like I can no longer move to your state to escape the politics of my own :(

  • Well, it sounds like there's depression all around! It was really interesting to watch the spin machines whirling on the news last night. Fox had an Election Alert, which I thought was ridiculous. It's not an alert; it's a report. Yeesh. Why must everything on that channel return to fear mongering?

  • I think there's a large part of the American public who is very apathetic when it comes to voting, and it's really sad.  There's also a large number of people who expect global change within a 2 year period btw Obama taking office and the midterms.  Unfortunately, it takes much longer to change government.  But people are unsatisfied so they vote for the other party and expect better government.  Honestly, it'll probably just cause more gridlock.

  • Sad day in Maine. They picked a guy for governer who is the mayor of Waterville and created jobs there in a department store that pays minimum wage.  It was so close. =(

This is exactly what DH and I were talking about last night. Things take time, but people expect results NOW.

I'm really disappointed my state voted to make class sizes bigger. I feel like it's just another way to save money. Instead of hiring more teachers and adding more classrooms, they're just going to make it harder for current teachers. My high school classes averaged 35-38 students. The limit is 25.

  • Yes, but it was very close here.  I am disappointed overall, but not surprised.
