No, it's not the highest quality stuff, but the customer service rivals Nordstrom. No kidding.
My parents got E a bunch of clothes from Kohl's for his birthday, but it didn't fit right and he wasn't crazy about the styles. So two nights ago we went to exchange them. They didn't have in-store what he wanted most: a pressure cooker.
So he got a store credit (by the way, I misplaced the receipt my mom gave me just in case... but they're awesome about taking returns too) that they said could be used in-store or online. We came home and he tried to order the pressure cooker on the website, plus a juicer, since there was enough credit for both. He actually wanted to register for a juicer when we were getting married & I wouldn't let him, but this is his birthday present, so he can do what he likes.
Anyway, for some reason, though he tried it many times, the damned credit wouldn't work. And the items were on sale that night too, plus free shipping. The total came in $1 under the value of the credit, so it was perfect. But wouldn't work.
So yesterday I took the card back to Kohl's where they confirmed that the money was on the card and the card was properly activated. Either there was something wrong with their website, or E was doing something wrong.
Last night, I tried going online with it to buy the stuff for him, and the items were no longer on sale, plus shipping was now $0.99/item. The shipping wouldn't be an issue, but the order would now be $55 over the value of the credit, which sucks. E was really pissed. I kept my head.
I called Kohl's, the number on the website, and they were still there even though it was already about 8 p.m. or maybe later EST. I can't remember because we were busy taking product photos and waiting for candle wax to melt. Anyway, the guy answered, I told him what was wrong, and he told me he could put the order through at the previous day's sale price! He did that, and then without me asking (it felt petty for $1.98) waived the shipping cost as well.
And so... Kohl's rocks.

I worked at Kohl's in high school. They rival Wal-Mart/Sam's Club (where I worked in college) with their return policy. Also, I remember numerous times overriding prices at the register taking the customer's word for it that something was marked differently. Plus, their credit card is practically a permanent coupon, as long as you pay it off right away.
If you ever pay full price for something at Kohl's, you need your head examined.
True! I started shopping there because of the crazy sales way back when. My friend Kerry & I have been known to get up to go to the 8 a.m. madness sales, and then get a wad of "Kohl's Bucks" or whatever it's called with our purchase, to go back a few weeks later and buy more for some crazy discount. There were times I shopped at Kohl's and they practically paid me to take the stuff.
