Weekend is almost over - what did you do?

I'm bored. I'm here - what are you up to?

Yesterday I went out shopping in the afternoon and picked up some bargains at Kohls. I love shopping for clothes for Collin, but am so sad he's already getting too big for all the 0-3mo clothing we have for him. I literally started crying while I was changing his dresser over to the bigger sizes.

Today we took our first trip up to visit my father in Littleton. Collin did amazing (slept the whole way there and back) and we had a nice visit. Too bad the weather is crap.

Re: Weekend is almost over - what did you do?

  • Let's see I helped a friend who lost her roof due to the tornado do some roofing with my fellow firefighters.  Then we had to quit due to the rain.  I came home and cooked most of the afternoon...chili, corn bread, pumpkin pie etc.  Also finished a knitted hat and started another pair of socks.  Today we went to the grocery store (what fun) and spent the rest of the day laying around on the couches reading and watching movies.  And so far this evening I've done some studying.
  • I went dress shopping for my mother's wedding, and basically a whole lot of nothing(yay).
  • Today was great - I took a much-needed nap when Alyssa did - 2 1/2 hours!!! - and then for the rest of the day, Eugene pretty much took over w/ her so I could relax.  He also got me an iced coffee when he went out this morning for ham - as a little surprise - I usually ask for them when he goes out but I didn't this time - and he's making shephard's pie for dinner, mmmmm.

But yesterday and Friday were terrible.  We got a brand new furnace and the guy, who was great, was here for two days.  It was LOUD so Alyssa wouldn't nap at all - talk about cranky!! - and we also had to shut off the hot water so there were no showers, no laundry, no dishes that could be done.  Then yesterday when he turned on the furnace to get it running, Alyssa and I had to drive around for two hours because it smells bad and it's a little fumey - at least she napped the entire time but drving around with nowhere to go for two hours?!  It was just a stressful two days.  I know it's not the end of the world but an inconvenience like this is hard w/ a 5 month old baby, you know?

  • Lets see.. Friday we didnt do a whole lot.  I went and got a new cell phone and then to the COACH store for a new planner.  Saturday I went out for drinks and then today we cleaned this house.  I am so glad to be in an actual house, but OMG, the mess that comes along wtih moving, is horrible.

  • Because the weather was so crappy, we couldn't do much except INDOOR things so we stuck close to home - Amye, you should have mentioned abut your furnace stuff....we would have loved you to come by for a visit!

Yesterday the big outing with the kids was to BJs and Jakob and Caroline rode in the cart there that is like a car, with steering wheels and everything.  They had a blast and we got some errands done, something little like that - who would have guessed?

This morning was our weekly family pancake breakfast / church-going thing.  Jakob actually has a church school class that he goes to now and Caroline is in the nursery (playing with kids her age) while DH and I attend services.  I also had Welcome Committee duty this week, which is something I enjoy doing alot.

  • Friday night I was sick so I did... nothing.

Saturday I had my grad school class so I was there allll day and then came home and did... nothing- watched a movie and cuddled with hubs!

Today I corrected, planned, read and did some grad school work and then had a relaxing day!

  • Friday night I played with the Mac for most of the night while Hubs was at Fenway in the freezing rain.

Saturday we had a friend and her three year old over for coffee and some bread I made (Vanilla Raspberry bread, yum!)

Saturday night we went the Bruins game and just relaxed at the bar afterwards and had a great time just the two of us.

Sunday we went to a mac class at the apple store and then we hung around the house and I made an amazing Chicken parm recipe. ?
