So now that we're all married how are we spending Thanksgiving? Also can you believe it's almost upon us?

Re: Thanksgiving Poll
Its just us this year. Which is nice, but it will be weird cooking a Thanksgiving meal for two.
I'm Canadian, so my family celebrated Thanksgiving in October. However, it's his family's turn to have us for Christmas, so we're spending American Thanksgiving in Canada with my family.
This will only be my second Christmas away from my family. I'm really big on my family's Christmas traditions, so I'm sad to be missing them this year. 4 years ago when I lived abroad, my mom send me all our Christmas traditions in a box and I had my own mini-Christmas in my apartment. This year I'll just have to let that go and see what my in-laws traditions are like.

I decided we'd do his family for Thanksgiving this year because it would make his mom happy, but what she doesn't realize is that means we get Christmas Day with MY family, which is more important to me. I was a bit sneaky, haha. We'll alternate every year.
After we eat his step-Grandma's craptastic meal (except for the stuffing which I'm making and will be amazing!) we'll drive to my parents and have some yummy leftovers and pie.
And then wake up to work Black Friday at our respective retail jobs. DH at Best Buy so he'll probably have to get to work by 3am haha, but I'm working the closing shift. Sweet.

We are spending Thanksgiving with my family. DH's family lives back in Michigan and with both of us working with the school districts it's hard to get more time off other than the 2 days we get off.
We also sat down with both sets of parents at our wedding and explained that Christmas is going to be every other year. This year we are with my family since my mom's side does a slide show and our wedding is the main attraction.
our families are within 20 minutes of each other, so we usually start at my family's dinner, and then move on over to DH's family.
I'm sure that we'll have to start deciding once we have kids...
Just us this year. We were going to spend it with both sides, since our families live 20 minutes apart (at sleep at his parents' house), but he got called in for a 6am shift on Black Friday, so we decided it would be easiest (and relaxing!) to just stay home and have a quiet, travel-free weekend together, which I'm fine with.He suggested I just go home and see my fam, but I said no way jose, he's my fam now. I'm not spending any more holidays apart like years past.
And since he's awesome at covering for other people at work, h finagled nearly a week off for Christmas, so we can go home for 4-5 days and spend lots of time with both our families, which will rock. I always feel like we have to give one or the other the shaft depending on where we sleep, but we'll be able to spend plenty of time with both.
