Re: Unpopular Opinion Thursday
I voted, even though I kind of knew I was just throwing my uber-liberal vote away here in OK for precisely this reason.
My UO- I REALLY don't want to go to this conference tomorrow. I don't HAVE to go, but it'd look good to be seen there. The UO part is why I don't want to go: 1., I don't sit still well and have the attention span of a knat, so conferences bore me to death, 2., I work from home on Fridays, so I usually sleep until noon or 1 (I know, I know!) then do my research in the afternoons. I'm being whiney about getting up at 8am just to pay a $60 conference registration fee for a conference I don't even want to go to. [stomps foot like a petulant 3 year old!]
I feel the same way about voting. H didn't vote - he never votes - and it's a little irritating. I'm trying to change his ways about voting and make him see the importance of it.
I don't really have a UO today, except that I've already started listening to Christmas music [in moderation]. I know a lot of people don't get into the Christmas swing of things until closer to - or after - Thanksgiving, but...yeah.
I'm already getting into the Christmas spirit as well. I've had Christmas songs in my head this week and I'm ready to go shopping and get it all done. Last year I didn't have any excitment about Christmas but this year it feels different.
