"Elfster" question...
Guys: The one thing I couldn't seem to find on Elfster is how it works...Will the site randomly pair us up with our secret elf, or would the originator, Mel, do that once the sign up deadline is up? Thanks!!

This is exactly why I do like doing it this way - it really does cut down on the moolah. My only prob is that one of H's sisters (the one that I don't get along with that well) refuses to get me the items on my list whenever she gets my name - she does it on purpose. It's more annoying than anything, as it is her money she is wasting, but it is my one downfall with the system with his family!
Ouch, that sucks. Why would she do that? That just makes her look like the b*tch.
I've brought this topic up to DH several times this year, but he seems adamant that it's not going to happen, meanwhile I'm literally feeling sick to my stomach about the cost. I'm at that age where I don't even really want gifts anymore so it's not a big deal to me. I just don't know what to do. Even if we only spend $50 on each person, that's still over $500! And yeah, I'll be selfish in saying that I really want to take a 1 year anniversary trip with DH to San Fran, and that's half our flight/hotel cost for 4 days! Not to mention that DH has to have surgery next year to get his pace-maker replaced and we want to TTC starting at the end of summer.
/rant. Sorry, I just really needed to get all of that out.
I was just playing around on Elfster because I'm going to use it to set up my family's secret santa. With the name draw you can have exceptions so that, for example, I don't draw DH. So, you can set it up so that your SIL doesn't get you!
The only thing I don't like is that you can't have separate wish lists for each exchange. My family exchange is a $50 limit so I have some $20 items and some $50 items. Whoever gets me - obviously ignore the expensive items!
TTC #1 since 4/10, Dx: MFI IVF planned for April/May
I was just going to say this, Stacy, your SIL can be prevented from picking you... if you set it up that way!
LOL, though on the wish list... I stuck a bunch of stuff on there for the April Knotties list... didn't realize it will show up on any list I join (though I suppose it applies for my siblings as well if we do it)!

Actually, I just figured out how to set up a separate list. If you click on wishlist settings there's a way to do it.
