Did you guys ever find a buyer for your house in Manahttan? Do you need me to do anything to keep an eye on it if it hasn't sold yet?

Re: Pennyandandy

  • No, we haven't sold it yet :o( And I don't know if we will the way that this economy crap is going. We are okay for now, our neighbor watches it for us. We have been coming back every few weeks to mow, dust, etc. Darn housing market...

If the housing market is still this bad in May (which it looks like it will be), and if DH can find a job in the area, we are strongly considering moving back until everything improves. I know that I can get my teaching job back, so that's no problem.

    Boo economy.

Thanks for asking, though, I appreciate it!

  • Aw man! That stinks! I wish that I knew where we were going to be next year (after May) so that I could at least get an idea of housing in the area.

How are your new teaching jobs going?

  • They are...interesting! DH actually really likes his job aside from the administration. Mine is rough. I love the kids, but most of the other teachers aren't too friendly. They are mostly 35+ (all with kids) and they just don't seem to really trust me yet. They had some really awful SpEd teachers in the past, so I'm trying to kind of rebuild everything. I think it is getting better, though. How are your kiddos this year?

  • The kids are great this year. I'm teaching freshmen in addition to the sophomores and seniors, so that's new. They are a whole different breed.

However, much like your husband, it sounds, I have been having trouble with administration. Our negotiations team kinda screwed us this year and has been arguing against that and even name calling.

It makes me wonder why I ever got into education. This is, however, the 5 year mark for me, so I've made it longer than most other people who are in the teaching profession.
