With all the deals going on, has anyone started their holiday shopping yet? What do you think you will get your DH?
Re: holiday shopping
July 10, 2010 Best. Day. Of. Life.
Nooooo, but I know I should. I just keep buying stuff for our new place, and now the new puppy. It's awful.
I have no clue what I'm getting Brian for Christmas. He is always so difficult to shop for because he is the type of person that researches exactly what he wants, and then goes out gets it. I have run into several instances in the past where i've gotten him a gift, even a few days early, and he goes out and gets the same thing before i can give it to him. Luckily i've learned to keep my receipts!
DH is the same way. He doesn't normally want a lot, but when he does, he researches it a while to figure out exactly what he wants. He spent 2 weeks figuring out what radio to order for our car!
But when I give him an IOU, he rarely cashes it in.
I haven't started shopping yet, just been way too busy, but I have ideas. Our parents are all getting goodies baskets: I'm making homemade liquors (Kahlua and amaretto) with some banana or cranberry bread, cookies, truffles, etc. We are also going to make them each a photo book from the wedding.
Our siblings are getting stuff from Omaha Steaks.
For Matt, I'm planning getting him some new clothes and a guitar stand that will hold all 3 guitars at once. Not sure what else. I always have to plan extra so the kids have stuff to give him, too.
The kids are our biggest "getters" and they're getting tough to buy for! Dang teenagers want all the big items. My daughter: "The only thing I want is a laptop." Keep dreaming, sweetie.
Thinking about this stresses me out already!!
I am planning to get DH partial season tickets for the Phillies. I put in a deposit already, but it is pending availability once current ticket-holders decided to renew or cancel their tix. That would be DH's big surprise gift. Beyond that, we are going to get each other nice winter coats becuse we both need them.
A, what a great gift!
DH already told me he knows he is harder to shop for and to not try to spend the same amount that he will probably spend on me. But I am still going to try to come up with some good stuff for him!
