Anybody going? DH and I are (my first trip to Auburn and first SEC game). How is everyone's SEC Saturday going for them today?
i hate my tickers, but they won't go away...
Re: AU/UGA next weekend?
You've picked a great game to go to! If you have any questions about the town, feel free to ask.
This is my first season since 2006 not living in AU and it'll be the 3rd game of the season we'll have gone to (we went to Ark and LSU).
I'm pretty excited to spend next weekend in Auburn. You should make sure to get some Toomer's Lemonade before you leave and have some Momma G's nachos. YUM!

We will be there! We live in AU and go to all of the home games. Let me know if you have any questions about anything...definitely go to Toomer's!
Jordan-Hare Stadium is going to be INSANE next week! I can't wait!

Did you know that it has literally been YEARS since I saw you last?

Oh and make sure you get to campus early! You have to be at Tiger Walk! Starts two hours prior to kick-off...it is fun to be further down the street, closer to the stadium but it is also really neat to be up at the top (right where it starts) so you can look down a the massive sea of people as Tiger Walk continues.
And make sure you get in the stadium early, too. You don't want to miss the eagle flight or any of the pre-game festivities! Be in there at least 30 minutes before kick-off...

It HAS, hasn't it?!? That's crazy...I can't believe you don't live here any more
If DH doesn't have recruits next weekend (but it is looking like he will) we will be tailgating in our normal spot with all of our friends... right on Samford by the Athletic Complex...if we are able to tailgate with them you should stop by and see hi! Otherwise maybe we will see you at Toomer's after the game

So glad there are local(ish...) fans on here haha. My husband used to live in Auburn, but we live in Talladega now. We'll be moving down there in the fall for me to start school hopefully. I'm REALLY excited about the trip. I've heard it's incredibly fun and a great experience so I'm really looking forward to it.
Are there any really sweet little hotels to stay at in the area? I'm so bored with Holiday Inns, but since we'll be there all weekend, we'll need somewhere comfy to stay.
Oh wow..you don't have a room yet? Yikes...that could be hard. Rooms book up a year in advance for this game. I'd try Robert Trent Jones Marriott, Hilton Garden Inn and maybe the newer Microtel in Tiger Town. Or the new Holiday Inn Express off exit 58. The Robert Trent Jones is probably the nicest, most "non-chainy" hotel but I know it books up fast. You could always try the AU Hotel and Conference Center but your chances are going to be very, very, very slim. And you have to book at least two nights there and it isn't cheap...
It isn't going to be easy to find a room now. I'd start calling tonight...

She makes a good point, you don't want to miss the eagle..it's my favorite part! That sucks you don't have a room yet. You're going to be paying out the wazoo. H and I were planning on getting a room and making a weekend out of it since it'll be the weekend after my birthday but we found a friend who is going to let us stay with her.
I paid 60 at the days inn across from campus for a writing conference during an away game, for the UGA game? It went up to 300 a night.
The majority of places are already booked unless you head into Opelika.
Madelyn - I'll PM you my number and you can text me if you're tailgating..I would love to stop by for a few mins and say hi!
