Quad Cities Nesties
Dear Community,
Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.
If you have questions about this, please email help@theknot.com.
Thank you.
Note: This only affects The Nest's community members and will not affect members on The Bump or The Knot.
Where to volunteer on TG?
DH and I have a family situation that has left us not wanting to partake in any of our families' festivities. We thought a good alternative (and excuse for not attending!) would be to spend the day volunteering, but google hasn't been very helpful.
Anyone volunteer at a shelter or something? Where do I find volunteer opportunities?
Re: Where to volunteer on TG?
I volunteered back in highschool, through my church, handing out meals at Salvation Army in downtown Davenport.
I believe the Davenport Y also does something.
Southpark Mall always hands out meals and typically asks for volunteers.
I've also volunteered at Festival of Trees in the past and always have fun. It's only open 5-9pm though.

Those are all awesome ideas!! Thanks for sharing. I don't think we'll know what to do until about 7pm on Wednesday. Sometimes having family members who also procrastinate sucks.
7river--- family is way overrated at times. Volunteering is the wave of the 2010's.
