Share your pulled pork recipes please!

I'd like one i can make in the crock pot for a poker party to keep things nice and simple.

Will any bread rolls do?

Thanks!

Re: Share your pulled pork recipes please!

  • Yes any roll will be fine, but you must toast them! My favorite recipe is super simple: http://mrsedwardscooks.blogspot.com/2010/10/pulled-pork-sandwiches.html

I also throw a bit of ketchup, worcheshire sauce and liquid smoke, although it would be fine without.

Last week I saw the McCormick package of seasoning and tried that - it sucked compared to this recipe!

  • I LOVE this recipe.  Some people put mayo/miracle whip and pickles on their sandwiches but they're great plain...

    Pulled Pork Sandwiches

    Makes: 12 sandwiches

    1 tbl vegetable oil
3 1/2 to 4 lb boneless pork shoulder roast, netted or tied
1 10.5 oz can Condensed French Onion Soup
    1 cup ketchup
    1/4 cup cider vinegar
    3 Tbl packed brown sugar
    12 round sandwich rolls, split

    1. Heat the oil in a 10-inch skillet over medium-high heat. Add the roast and cook until it's well browned on all sides.
    2. Stir the soup, ketchup, vinegar and brown sugar in a 5-qt slow cooker. Add the roast and turn to coat with the soup mixture.
    3. Cover and cook on Low for 8 to 10 hours (or High for 4 to 5 hours) or until the meat is fork tender.
    4. Remove the roast from the cooker to a cutting board and let it stand for 10 minutes. Using 2 forks, shred the pork. Return the shredded pork to the cooker. Divide the pork and sauce among the rolls.
  • The day before I cut the pork into big chunks and put in the crockpot with my favorite BBQ sauce, a bottle of dark beer, hot sauce, liquid smoke, and some cumin.  Shred and put back in the crock pot with all of the juices.  On the day of mix in any extra BBQ sauce you need/want and heat through.

I got some mini hawaii rolls last time and they were sooooooo good with the BBQ.

This recipe is the best pulled pork I've ever had, bar none.

  • this recipe is really, really awesome.  i add a little cornstarch (1/8 to 1/4 cup, depending on how much i'm making), about 30 minutes before serving.  i also shred up the pork at the same time.

  • This is awesome-if I do say so myself!

1 pork shoulder-cut into big chunks, 2 onions-big chunks, 2 heads garlic cut along the equator, (mix-1 cup soy, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 3 cups water, 2 oranges-cut in half & squeezed, 1" ginger-peeled & diced) salt & pepper TT, oil.

Season meat with s&p, brown in oil. Put meat into roasting pan with saucey sugar mix (put in the squeezed oranges too). Cook at 325'ish for about 3 hrs until it is fork tender. Pull the meat apart (throw out the fatty chunks) strain sauce and put meat back into it.

Serve with (red cabbage/red onion/napa cabbage/carrot/rice wine vinaigar/oil/slaw) in little hawiian rolls for a yummy Kahlua Pulled Pork Sandwich

  • Good post!  I love recipes like this for the fall season.
