What are some great gift ideas for kids?

Hi,

I have three little ones: 3-year old boy/girl twins and an *almost* 2-year old boy.  Anybody have any good gift suggestions?

I'm starting to create a list...you can click on the link below.  I'd love for you to add your ideas!

EDIT:  Having trouble making the link active.  Here's the URL, or *I think* you can click on the link in my signature:

Re: What are some great gift ideas for kids?

  • Target has an AMAZING dollar section. I always stock up on pens, note pads, socks, etc for the kids (they have Cars, Toy Story, Princess' etc) put it all together and you've got a great gift for less than $10 (my kids LOVE this kind of stuff)

Another idea is to get fleece material when it goes on sale or with a coupon at Hobby Lobby or Joann's and make blankets for the kids, or the adults. I am making one for both of my nieces and my youngest son. If you get the character prints they run about $15, with generic characters/patterns around $10. I was able to make one in 1 hour (do it while you are watching your favorite TV shows at night)

We are also big fans of Leapfrog products. All 3 kids have leapsters and tag pens. Our kids also like the color wonders (all varieties, paints markers etc.)

  • Such great ideas!  I, too, am a big devotee of the Dollar Section at Target.  Yesterday I was there buying stocking stuffers:  lip gloss, socks, stickers, etc...
  • I found a good website backtobasicstoys.com. There are a bunch of older toys that I used to play with when I was a kid.. like a snoopy sno cone maker. So it is fun to see all this stuff and introduce it to my kids.
  • I have a 3-year old nephew and he loves "mini" versions of grown up things...he loves playing firefighter, grocery shopping, and "fixing" things with his tools.  I'm definitely going to buy him things for imaginative play...it's good for him, and I think it's hysterical seeing him doing grown up things
  • We just bought our 3 year old nephew a little Iron Man costume--soooo adorable!  And, he really loved it!  I say dress up clothes and other fun props like cowboy hats, tiaras, hobby horses.....
