Mail forwarding help needed

We moved over a month ago. I realized on Friday that I didn't forward mail I got in my old last name (mostly random crap, but some useful stuff). So I went to USPS.com and they wouldn't do it because all my credit cards are in my married name. I went to the post office this morning to get one of those little cards to drop in a mailbox and they had these little fliers that said "visit USPS.com to change your address." At lunch I went down to the main Minneapolis post office and they had the same. Not a single packet or card in sight.

What do I do?

Re: Mail forwarding help needed

  • I think you can get around it if it does by putting your married name as your middle name.  I looked on their site, though, and it looks like they can account for this:

Select Individual and Repeat the Change of Address Process for each name if:
? You receive mail by more than one name (maiden name, married name or nickname)
? Some members of your family with the same last name are moving but others are staying
? Some members of your family are moving but they have different last names
