Two iPods on one computer...Best way to set up?
My H has had an iPod for a while and has iTunes set up on our computer. I've never owned one before (a little behind the times, I know) and will be buying one this week. My question is, how should we do the set up for two iPods on one computer? I don't like most of his music and don't want it automatically put on my iPod, but there is some I'd like to have. Do we set up two different accounts? Use different playlists? Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but I've never used iTunes before.
Thanks!
Re: Two iPods on one computer...Best way to set up?
You can do it with one account because you can authorize up to 5 machines to download his music/apps from iTunes. When you plug in your iPod it will ask you to make a name for it. So, when you name your iPod device next you'll sync your iPod with his music/apps, you'll only select the songs and apps you want synced to your iPod though. You don't have to sync everything on his iPod to yours while using 1 account.
Then, if you want your own iTunes account to back up your iPod stuff once you've gotten the stuff from your husband's iTunes account, make your own account. When you plug it in you can sync it no problem because the stuff on your iPod is everything you like and it'll then be synced to your own personal account.
